My case that PC Load letter is a pretty alright error. Printers have always been frustrating mixes of hardware and software and the &amp;quot;PC LOAD LETTER&amp;quot; message had at least isolated the hardware problem, which is pretty good expert system work for whatever little board was controlling the printer and its thousands of parts, and _tried_ to inform the user how to use its biomechanics to fix the problem. (The user needed to get to the *P*aper *C*assette and *load* some *letter* sized paper in.) A better designed error message that might have been &amp;quot;I NEED PAPER&amp;quot;, and that would also have fit on the tiny screen.&lt;br /&gt;
