Good Morning! My name is John, and I'm a software developer and project manager. My wife Alece and I are alumni of Americorps, and preceding that, Saint Mary's College of Maryland. That's interesting. We live in Seattle, Washington, which is really a fantastic city. We love Seattle plenty. My favorite bands these days are Sufjan Stevens, The Thermals, and Iron and Wine. I work at DomainTools.com. It's a really cool website if you like domains, check it out. We have a lot of fun writing software for the Internet. I'm a coder by profession but also for fun, whenever possible. When I'm not at work, I like to do pottery and DarGarth. I update my my other blog a lot more frequently than I do this page, but that's not saying much. All the same, since I've got your attention, here are some facts: I definitely like computers, but not more than people. I'm a Pragmatic Humanist. I live in Capitol Hill, Seattle, which is a really fun place to live. I'm very proud of Alece and my family. I like being good at things, but I like too many things to get really, really good at anything. That doesn't bother me, though. Someday I'll get a master's in Generalist Studies or something. I was raised on Windows, and I like Apple's designs, but Ubuntu is the world's best desktop operating system as far as I'm concerned. I think that information should be kept as free and potent as possible and I really like Google for what they do. I am very interested in expert systems, assistive technology, neural networks, and human/computer interaction. My favorite non-profit organizations are Literacy Source, Free Geek, and The Heifer Project. While you're here, you can take a look at my resume, check out some of my projects, or see what kind of games I'm into. Or, dig my awesome library. Have fun with all that! Peace, |
